Volt
From Electronics Wiki
Voltage is the potential difference across a conductor when a current of one ampere dissipates one watt of power. It is analogous to pressure, in gases. It measures the potential energy of an electric field to cause an electric current in an electrical conductor. Depending on the difference of electrical potential it is called extra low voltage, low voltage, high voltage or extra high voltage.
Voltage is the base SI representation m2 · kg · s-3 · A-1, which can be equally represented as one joule of energy per coulomb of charge, J/C.
